A citywide celebration of New York's greatest obsession.
New York City has over 1,800 pizzerias and yet, for all its rich pizza history and culture, the city has never stopped to celebrate itself. No citywide moment. No occasion to honor the shops, the slices, and the people who made this city legendary. That felt like a missed opportunity.
NYC Pizza Week was born out of two years of running monthly pizza crawls across NYC, discovering incredible shops, meeting the passionate people behind them, and watching strangers become friends over a shared love of the perfect slice. Along the way, it became clear that the real story wasn't just the pizza. It was the families who bet everything on their dough, the neighborhoods shaped by their corner slice shop, and the generations of New Yorkers who grew up with a favorite spot that felt like home.
Pizza Week exists to change that. To shine a spotlight on the independent shops that keep New Yorkers fed. To share the stories of the people who built them. And to bring communities together around something we all love, reminding the world that New York City doesn't just make great pizza. It defines it.

Andrew brings people together — one slice, one event, one shared idea at a time. As founder of NYC Pizza Crawl, he's built a community around the city's best pizzerias, turning a love of good food into genuine connection across neighborhoods and backgrounds. That same instinct for gathering people shows up throughout his work: for years he helped organize Techstars Startup Weekend in New York, creating an accessible entry point for first-time founders to meet, team up, and build something real over a single weekend. Before that, he helped host dozens of events with Reddit NYC, rallying a famously online community into real-world meetups spanning food, art, and music.
Whether it's pizza lovers, first-time entrepreneurs, or internet strangers turned friends, Andrew's throughline is the same: create welcoming spaces where curious people can show up, connect, and build something together.
